Last night was the annual Google Dance held at the Google Campus in Mountain View. There is no better place to feel like you are back in high school/college at the school dance while also enjoying the free food/beer/entertainment. There is always your breakdancers who gather a circle of crowd on the dance floor which isn’t always at your typical Silicon Valley party. The Google party gathers a pretty broad range of people and age groups. Since you are required to have an SES Conference badge to get in, I always wonder how people get in. Does everyone just go sign up for the Conference and pick up their badge strictly to attend this party? For the true Silicon Valley geeks, there are the Google Product Demo Booths where you can learn more about their products. Most of the products were similar to last year with a few additions.

I wish I had a Green Google Dance T-shirt. Here are some Google Employees. The free T-shirts given away were black while red ones were for the Google Employee Escorts.
Quality of Presentations/Demo, Venue, Food/Drink, Quality/Quantity of Attendees: 10/10
I don’t really have much to complain about for this event because you pretty much have everything you need at a huge campus area, with multiple buffet style tables of food, sno-cones, root beer floats, tons of kegs, candy bar, pool tables, volleyball, a dunking booth, arcade video games, and more. There was 6,000+ in attendance, so there is bound to be geeks, and hot chicks in that mix. My only comment on this event would be that it is not your ideal networking scene and is probably better to attend with a couple of your friends, similar to a party or bar/club.

I will end the article with this statement: “My goal in life is to work for Google.”
