Office 2.0 Conference

The http://www.o2con.com was held at the St. Regis Hotel in San Francisco. Attendees received a free Iphone or PS3 but tickets also cost $1000+. This conference was also on the smaller side compared to a lot of other conferences held at much larger convention centers. The good news is that I got to go free on a Press pass, but the bad news is that people with media passes didn’t get Iphones or a PS3. I am not really sure how many people actually paid out of their own pockets for this since most people either got a free ticket somehow by being a presenter, vendor, or company paid trip. There was a lot of people from out of town and this was probably a good exhibit of all the different startups in the Bay Area. For people in other places, I am sure they don’t see these kinds of things everyday. For people in the Bay Area however, we see several of these kinds of events every week either for free or for a minimal fee. The setup was also a little interesting as booths were setup on two different floors of the hotels.

There was a ton of demo booths setup and there were several conference rooms setup with speakers and presentations at different hours for the 3 day long conference. I only stopped by during my lunch one day to check it out and didn’t get a chance to sit down on too many presentations or speakers but I assume those were probably the most valuable places to spend your time at the conference.
